Sanjivani Jadhav is a long distance runner who created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal in a track event at the World University Games, 2017 that were held in Taipei City, Taiwan by bagging the silver medal in the Women's 10,000 metres event. In addition 2017 has been a successful and positive year for Sanjivani as she further brought accolades to India by winning a bronze (5,000m), silver (3,000m) and gold (10,000m) at the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships, the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and the All India Inter- University Cross Country Championships respectively. She has also clocked her personal best time of 15:50 seconds in 5,000m. She continues her winning form in 2018 by winning the 21km event at the Tata Mumbai Marathon, January 2018 and bronze medals at the 14th Asian Cross Country Championships that were held on 15th March, 2018 in Guiyang, China.
